Birding McCormick Park in Tucson

I stopped by McCormick Park in Tucson looking for the Red Breasted and Red Naped Sapsucker that had been reported there. If found several Gila Woodpeckers and a Ladderback Woodpecker, but not the Sapsuckers. Nonetheless I came back with some nice photos. I particularly like the Male Vermillion Flycatcher photo. Like the muted blue background offset by the intense red of the VF.

Bobcat Photo Shoot

I went to Sweetwater Wetlands yesterday looking for the Orchard and Baltimore Oriole that had been reported there. No luck in finding either. But, as luck would have it, I found a beautiful and cooperative Bobcat. Got lots of nice photos. Here are a few:

Zebra Tailed Lizard

Last but not least among my "5" Star Photos, is the Zebra Tailed Lizard. Lizards often change colors when mating. This one is in full "bloom" complete with striped tongue:

Just about to the end of my alphabetical series of my "5" Star Photos. Here is a Zebra Longing. I love the color contrast between the white of the orchard and the black of the butterfly:

Yellow Warbler - II

And, now a second "5" Star Yellow Warbler photo. This one appeals to me because of the juxtaposition of the Yellow Warbler with the yellow mesquite pods on the mesquite tree. The photo was taken at Fort Lowell park in Tucson:
