Plumage Changes - II

Black Crowned Night Herons are found in many of the fresh and salt water wetlands throughout the world; from South America to North America, from the US to Europe, Africa, and Asia. It's color changes are remarkable. The juvenile as you can see is brown with white stripes and spots. The Adult is pure white underneath with dark grey/black crown and back. They are migratory in the extreme northern and southern parts of their range. While not easily found, they are here in Southern Arizona year round.
