The Skagit River helps form "Fir Island" in Western Washington. Rich soil creates fertile farmlands -- and welcome resting places for migratory birds. This particular site is the winter home for 10 - 15,000 Snow Geese from Siberia. I took great care to compose this photo, ensuring that Mt.
